Let's go to Grimsby! I wonder how many people have ever said that? Well now you will have every visual anecdote possible to convince you that Grimsby should not be missed! I probably talk endlessly about Grimsby - I live there after all and I feel a little patriotic for my little town with the unfortunate name. But there are so many surprises to be had.
You may find arriving at the junction of Grimsby and outskirts not too thrilling, but this is only the beginning of your adventure!
However unimposing Grimsby may appear at first sight, a mere dot on the horizon line, the gateway to Niagara - that which we drive through on our way somewhere else, there are many delights to discover in Grimsby.
To begin though you will not find it pictured here we are friendly by nature, as states our welcome to downtown Grimsby downtown slogan reads.
There are also many delightful houses to encounter on your journey
as well as interesting/unique shops:
a top quality selection of interesting store fronts and happening bars to frequent in the evening, as well choice places to grab a traditional bite to eat!
There is random retro graffiti
and pirate art.
a picturesque marina
if you are looking for your art/book fix don't miss the Grimsby Public Art Gallery and Library.
No, that white picket fence isn't just another example of how quaint Grimsby is, it's an installation in the Rotary Club's sculpture garden - White Picket Sound Fence by Duncan MacDonald.
There's a stop on the VIA rail that will take you back to Toronto, Niagara and beyond. And while you are waiting for your train on the small platform, you can check out Grimsby's old station house which is now an antique shop, one of the most interesting shops in town!
Bottles
flower beds
and doors.
Glassless windows looking onto odds and ends
You can even get your shoes shined
And to sum up the ultimate Grimsby experience, don't miss a stunning sunset over lake Ontario
